CCPA Lebanon visits Bosnia and Herzegovina

On Wednesday the 28 th of July, CCPA Lebanon Country Coordinator Mazen Ramadan and 13 persons from the office staff and the group of coordinators made a visit to Bosnia as a part of an educational trip.

The Lebanese group participated in a three-day Coach Seminar in the Bosnian mountains together with 80 coaches from the Balkans. The purpose of the visit was to refresh the minds of the coordinators about the concept of Open Fun Football Schools and to teach the newly recruited coordinators about this concept. Moreover, it was a chance for all the participants in the Coach Seminar to share their experiences, bring up new ideas for the future CCPA work and not least get to know CCPA colleagues from other parts of the world.

After the seminar, CCPA Lebanon visited three Open Fun Football Schools in different regions of the country . The schools were different from one another, one was a “classic” OFFS in a small mountain village, another was called Copaca-Bosnia and was made on the riverside close to Sarajevo and the third, which was held in Travnik, was an all-girls school and gathered more than 400 girls from different towns.

The three visits were a great experience for the Lebanese participants, and it has motivated them to continue developing the project in Lebanon and given them new ideas about games and the special environment which an Open Fun Football School should be implemented in.

Along with these visits, the group was conducting workshops with CCPA Director Anders Levinsen, where the work in Lebanon was evaluated and future activities and goals for the coming years were discussed and planned.

Above all that, the warmth and hospitality of the Sarajevo CCPA office and all who participated in this trip was overwhelming. The organization was great and CCPA Lebanon felt that it was in its second home. This was surely an experience never to be forgotten. CCPA Lebanon would like to say hvala, thank you and shukran to its extended family in Bosnia.
