New football design 2010

There has been much talk about soccer footballs at the ongoing World Cup in South Africa, but the new Open Fun Football Schools footballs - funded by the Velux Foundation - has not been mentioned.
 
The Danish firm Select, which has produced this year’s footballs is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hand-sewn balls and produces approx. 2 million balls a year. SELECT Sport is recognized as an innovator in quality balls and is represented by its own sales network or distributors in large parts of the world.
 
Eigil Nielsen, the Danish national football team’s goalkeeper, founded the company in 1947. He participated in 28 national matches from 1940-1951 and was there when Denmark won bronze at the Olympic games in London 1948.
