Mini tournament in Masghrara, Bekaa

On Saturday the 16th of January the Popular Club of Mashgara invited the clubs from Qaraoun and Talabaya for a mini tournament. This was the first CCPA mini tournament to be held in the region of Western Bekaa.

The mini tournament took place indoor at the local Emdad School due to the cold and rainy winter weather.

The 5 players and the coach from Taalabaya Popular Club travelled one hour by car to get to Mashgara. “We are willing to travel far to play football and meet new friends”, coach Rashid says. “We could have brought many more kids, but we didn’t have enough money to organise their transportation”.

The 29 players from the three clubs mixed with each other and played mini matches for 2 hours. The organizer, CCPA Coordinator Ali, hopes that this was the first of many tournaments in his region: “We want more tournaments with more teams. It is very important that the children are meeting people from other towns and learn something new from them – and have fun!”
