Anders Levinsen contribute to the Sport for Peace Annual Forum in Monaco
In late November Anders Levinsen was invited to join a round table discussion at the Sport for Peace Annual Forum in Monaco. The topic of the round table was: "The role of sports in peace keeping operation and armed forces". The main points presented was: A) Sports can be used as a tool to bridge and bond between communities that has been divided due to conflicts. And B) When a peace agreement has been settled there is a vacuum or a democratic space available. This space can be taken by either a new democratic elected government. Criminals and paramilitary groups or by NGO's. With examples from the Open Fun Football School project and our "Children's Grassroots Universe" Anders Levinsen explained how CCPA see sports being used to create a platform in the local community where people of different backgrounds can meet, bond and interact while discussing children - welfare - future.
