Financial sustainabilityThe budget for a national OFFS Programme can be divided into three Sectors as illustrated in the figure:
Running cost of national OFFS team![]() 2008: Nordic donor organisations 2009 - : National football associations & Ministry of Sports Seminars and local activities2008 - : Municipalities & local sponsors Materials2008 - : Social Corporate Partners e.g. UEFA, Velux, Rockwool, Socar, Statoil, etc. In the Balkan and the Caucasus regions and Moldova our financial sustainability strategy for the OFFS programme has brought us to an important threshold:
A) Running cost of national OFFS teams
During 2007 Cross Cultures has initiated two-pronged negotiations with national stakeholders i.e. the national football associations and relevant ministries regarding the financing of the local running costs for the national OFFS programme in the respective countries. By end 2010 we anticipate that the required funding arrangements are agreed upon.
B) Seminars and local activities
In the Balkans we succeeded to implement a model in 2007, where local
municipalities and local sponsors cofunded the regional coach and leaders seminars and the local OFFS activities. We plan to copy this model in the Trans Caucasian countries during our 2009-season. Hereby, we hope to establish a sustainable funding mechanism for the future coach education and local children’s football activities. C) Materials
Cross Cultures’ major financial commitment in the OFFS programme is to fundraise resources for equipment through Corporate Social Responsibility sponsorships with international companies and private foundations. This continued financial commitment ensures that Cross Cultures maintains an influential position in the OFFS programme allowing us to monitor quality and reinforce the democratic values and social responsibility principles that characterise the OFFS operations. |
